One of the series of in-country workshops organised in collaboration with International Programme for Development Communication (IPDC)/UNESCO designed exclusively for experienced and skilled women media profesionals in radio,television and print in Mekong countries (in Vietnam)who are potential trainers or those who are already working as trainers to acquire knowledge and skills to carry out effective training in their organizations.
AIMS This in-country workshop aims to focus on the concepts and philosophies of adult learning and their applications,instructional techniques and instructional systems design for competency development programmes for women media practitioners in Vietnam, the venue being Broadcasting school in Ho Chi Minh City.OBJECTIVES
At the end of the workshop the participants will be able
- to acquire knowledge and skills and apply teaching and learning techniques in varied fields/methodologies to plan, organise, conduct, evaluate and modify training in core competency media development programmes that brings about positive change in their organisations through effective training.
- conduct planned and structured training & apply the learning through practical projects to effectively transfer the knowledge and skills to others,
- each participant is expected to develop and present a session on a knowledge or skills-based topic, relevant to their field of specialization which will be delivered in a twenty minute micro teaching session applying the techniques learnt during the workshop consisting learning/training objectives, topics, practical projects and evaluation techniques to measure knowledge and/or skills gain
LONG TERM OBJECTIVE
- to be able to not only to take lead as professional trainers but also be able to contribute to the multiplication of trained trainers and to build up a reservoir of homogenous group of local trainers in Vietnam who can be self reliant in carrying-out their own in-country training requirements.
METHODOLOGY
The workshop is essentially practical oriented, emphasizing on
methodologies and experiential learning techniques for adult
learners using structured methodology demonstrated throughout the
training through the application of experiential learning
techniques.
PROFILE OF THE PARTICIPANT
Those invited to atted are
- Women media profesionals in radio,television and print in Vietnam who are potential trainers in their organisations with at least 5 to 7 years of experience in their fields of specialisation in the media.
- Teaching experience will be an added qualification.
- Women communication officers in the media who could also be potential trainers.
- Ability to understand, speak and write in English.
