Media Law for Chief Executive Officers,Senior Managers,Legal Executives in broadcasting & lectures in higher learning organisations

AIMS

Media law training has become an important benchmark in terms of
professionalism of media organisations,whereby not only the
journalists but also the Chief Executives,Senior Managers are required to be well informed of the legal risks given the speed
and the sophistication of legal developments in this field across
national boundaries,especially in this increasingly globalised world.This sharing of knowledge is particularly valuable to
broadcasters, given the cross-border nature of the media.

OBJECTIVES
The participants will be able to acquire knowledge and understanding on legal areas relevant to day-today practice of journalism, among them defamation, contempt of court, “hate”
speech & related matters and journalism ethics in the era of media
convergence.

THOSE INVITED TO ATTEND ARE

  • Chief Executive Officers,Those in Senior Management positions in media organisations,journalists,editors or media practitioners with
  • an interest in media law including legal assistants/ legal executives in broadcasting and lectures in higher learning organisations.

METHODOLOGY
The two day training programme will be highly interactive, with
presentations,group discussions and case studies.
