The TV News Production Course aims to improve production, technical and journalistic skills of the participants. It exposes participants to fresh ideas about news, news content and techniques of news presentation and challenges participants to review their work practices.

The training will cover news production skills, featuring issues like:

· Technical Quality
· Planning
· Concept of Storyboard
· Telling the story in pictures
· Getting the right pictures
· Writing to Pictures
· Gathering information
· Basic editing techniques
· News Formats

The greater part of the training focuses of practical work. The participants will be required to identify news stories to be covered and produced by small teams, usually consisting of a reporter, cameraman and video editor. This places emphasis on teamwork and creates fruitful competition among the participants. The stories are then reviewed in class before participants are assigned more stories.
