PRE ASIA MEDIA Summit Events
by Javad Mottaghi

How relevant are media’s initiatives and performance in addressing some of the social and environmental ills that confront many nations across the globe?

Has media been effective in examining issues related to climate change, efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote reforestation and protect biodiversity?

Has media done enough in capacity building enhancing media professionalism? Has media responded effectively to epidemics like HIV and H1N1? Has it helped create a better environment for understanding diversity in religion and culture?

These concerns will find more focus in the pre-summit events of the Asia Media Summit in Beijing on 24 May 2010. Other media issues have also been lined up in the pre-summit events to include discussions on media quality management, legal and regulatory aspects of public service broadcasting, initiatives of the Global Media Center for Development on harnessing broadcasters’ content for competition in the information societies, and gender guidelines for broadcast organizations.

Do join the pre-summit events on 24 May 2010, as a prelude to the Asia Media Summit on 25-26 May 2010, which gathers some of the best minds and emerging thought leaders to examine the issues of the conference theme, “Creativity, Credibility, Rights & Responsibilities.”

    Ozone Hole
