AIBD Radio Awards

The AIBD in line with its Strategic Plan and keeping in view of the promotion of quality Radio programming for various target audiences has initiated 2 Radio Awards:

1) The AIBD Radio Award
2) The Reinhard Keune’s Memorial Award.

The Awards aim to recognize the achievements of Radio producers in the Asia-Pacific region.

The AIBD Radio Awards are open to AIBD members only.

Presentation of AIBD Awards Winners at General Conference 2014 Inauguration

The presentation of the winners of the AIBD TV & Radio Awards 2014 was conducted at the Inauguration Ceremony of the AIBD General Conference in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 13 August 2014. The winners were each presented with a certificate, trophy and USD 500 as reward for their special programmes.

AIBD TV AWARD 2014 on “The Best TV Programme on Sports and Social Change”

“A Singaporean Abroad – Kenyan Riders” – Channel NewsAsia, MediaCorp, Singapore

In this feature programme, a Singaporean in Kenya invests his time in seeking to train local milkmen as cyclists to qualify for the Tour de France.

 

 

AIBD TV AWARD 2014  on “The Best TV Programme on Protection of Indigenous Minorities”

“Vanishing Trails” – Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation, Sri Lanka

This feature documentary show gives an in-depth look at the indigenous people Veddas who lives in Sri Lanka and who lost their traditional homes during the long civil war gripping the country.

 

 

AIBD RADIO AWARD 2014 on “The Best Radio Programme Dealing with the Human Migration and its Consequences”

“A Euro Village in China” – China Radio International

This interesting programme looks at a mountain village in East China where people have been immigrating to Europe for work since the last few decades, and have brought their prosperity back home.

Winners for AIBD Awards 2014 Announced

AIBD is pleased to announce the final winners for the AIBD TV and Radio Awards 2014. The final judging session took place on 14 July 2014 at the AIBD office in Kuala Lumpur. The winners will be awarded at the 40th Annual Gathering / 13th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings to be held in August 2014 in Cambodia.

The judges panel included Ms. Jacinta Felix, Deputy Director, Contents and Applications, Broadband Management Division, Malaysian Communications And Multimedia Commission (MCMC); Mr. Maxime Villandre, Publishing Director, IGN ASIA, Malaysia; chairperson Ms. Munira Murad, Head of Radio Training at Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information (IPPTAR); Mr. Abdull Hadi Yusoff, Executive Producer for TV and Ms. Elaine Cheah, Station Manager of Radio Ai FM at Radio Television Malaysia (RTM); and Ms. Geraldine Mouche, Programme Manager at AIBD.

The panel evaluated a total of nearly 40 entries for the different award categories based on concept and production values. The final award winners are below.

Extension of Deadline for AIBD Television & Radio Awards 2014

The deadline for submission of the AIBD Awards 2014 has been officially extended to Friday, 11 July 2014.

We are pleased to present this opportunity to all AIBD members and affiliates. Supported by AIBD, this competition will provide the opportunity for your television and radio producers to receive international recognition for their work.

AIBD presents the awards in two categories:

AIBD TV Award for the Best TV programme on:

Sports and Social Change

With 2014 being the stage for several mega sports events such as the Winter Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup and it is an ideal time to look at how sports can be a force for positive social change. How can sports activities be harnessed for the greater good of all?

Protection of Indigenous Minorities

As many countries pursue agendas of rapid economic growth and urbanization, indigenous communities are often at risk of being marginalized and harmed. What can be done to ensure indigenous communities are treated with respect and care and not become a disadvantaged population?

AIBD Radio Award for the Best Radio Programme on:

Human Migration and its consequences

International migration of people has large-scale ramifications on society and economic growth, such as ‘brain drain’ from developing to developed countries. What aspects of human migration have not been fully explored as of yet?

ICTs for Development

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) hold tremendous potential for progress in the fields of socioeconomic development, international development and human rights. How can ICTs be incorporated to ensure development along with social harmony?

The presentation of the winners of the AIBD TV & Radio Awards 2013 was conducted at the Inauguration Ceremony of the 39th Annual Gathering and 12th AIBD General Conference & Associated Meetings in Yangon, Myanmar on 12 August 2013. The winners were each presented with a certificate, trophy and USD 500 as reward for their special programmes.
